Download Google Chrome 14.0.835.8 Dev

Earlier this week, the Mountain View-based search giant had launched Chrome Dev 14.0.835.0 for Mac and Linux, and 14.0.835.2 for Windows. The latest Google Chrome 14.0 Dev release has been provided to early adopters extremely fast after its predecessor.
Google Chrome 14.0.835.8 is now available through the Dev Channel for testers, and once again, the Builds for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X are synchronized.

When it released Chrome 14.0.835.2 Dev for Windows, Google warned testers that: “PDF viewing is broken in this release, a fix will be released for this later in the week.”

It appears that the Mountain View-based company has lived up to its promise, since Chrome 14.0.835.8 Dev can now be grabbed by early adopters for testing purposes.

The most recent release of Chrome 14.0 Dev comes to fix the PDF file bug introduced in the previous Dev Channel update, Google explained.

Chrome users must know by now that Google has worked with Adobe in order to integrate not only the Flash player but also a PDF viewer into its open source browser.

This is why, a fix for Chrome not being able to open PDF files needs to come from Google and not from Adobe.

Chrome 14.0.835.8 Dev is mainly focused on resolving the PDF issue that Google highlighted in the previous Dev Channel update that shipped this week.

Still, the latest Dev Build also features an updated JavaScript engine, V8 version 3.4.14.2, a small increase from the earlier refresh, v. 3.4.13.0.

For those users that are asking about when will Google push Chrome to the next stages in its evolution, the answer is soon. The Mountain View-based search giant will provide Chrome 13.0 Stable in the immediate future, with Chrome 14.0 graduating from Beta and Chromium 15 becoming Chrome 15.0 Dev.
